Financial Modeling with Claude Opus 4.6
I found the "God Mode" for VC-Grade Financial Models

Let’s be honest: building a financial model from scratch is usually a recipe for a headache and at least three broken Excel links. But we’ve been quietly testing something that feels a bit like cheating.
I’m officially calling it: VC-grade financial modeling with AI is finally here. Specifically, we’ve been putting Claude Opus 4.6 through the ringer. The result? Absolutely zero bugs. No “REF!” errors. No circular logic nightmares. Just clean, dynamic Excel files that actually make sense.
But here’s the catch—you can’t just ask it to “build a model.” You have to treat it like a senior analyst. Here is the the workflow we’re using:
The Brain Dump: We start by recording a voice note or a meeting. We talk about the product, the revenue flows, and how the business actually breathes. We give Opus the soul of the company first.
Structure First: We don’t touch Excel yet. We let Claude build a roadmap/structure to prove it actually understands the business logic.
The “Brain” Sheet: We build the Assumption Sheet first. This is the master control. Everything in the rest of the model must link back here.
Sheet-by-Sheet Construction: We build one tab at a time. This keeps errors low and navigation easy.
The LLM Fight Club: Once it’s done, we send the model to GPT and Gemini for an audit. We take their feedback back to Claude. The best part? Opus 4.6 doesn’t just “people please”—it’ll actually argue back if it knows its logic is superior.
It’s a brave new world for founders. If you’re still clicking through cells manually, you’re working too hard.
I’ve recorded (or will record) a tutorial video about this on my YouTube channel. Similar to my pitch deck one.
Check it out and get that model done.
