You Need To Know More About Claude – The $6B Amazon & Google Backed ChatGPT Rival.
Created by previous OpenAI employees and raised over $6 Billion so far.
🕒 Here‘s a TLDR summary:
🇬 Google just announced they’re investing more in Claude, the ChatGPT rival. They’re investing around $2 billion. That’s followed by Amazon’s $4 billion investment.
🧠 This is a strategic investment that gives Claude an edge versus ChatGPT.
💰 But ChatGPT is backed by Microsoft with over $13 billion of investments.
♟️ These are two different strategies. Let’s watch who emerges dominant.
If you‘re a fan of videos, my designer created a wonderful video that showcases how Claude is a threat to ChatGPT and Bard. Let me know what you think → Video.
More money for Claude
Another $2 billion is flowing from Google to Claude (enough with the AI billions already?)
While this piece of news is moderately interesting, the key here is not the $2 billion. It’s Google.
Google’s been battling ChatGPT with Bard, and soon they’ll add Gemini to the mix. Yet, the business world is not about battles. It’s a chess game, and it’s all about smart moves.
Google’s investment in Uber returned over 20x their original investment. Now, they’re investing in a ChatGPT rival that was formed by two previous OpenAI employees.
Here’s a video narration of one of my articles explaining the positions of Claude vs. ChatGPT and Google Bard.
Claude is similar to ChatGPT. Yet, whatever they tell you online, the fact is that GPT-4 is the most advanced at this stage that we know of.
However, people tend to go for products that are useful to them, not the best of the best. Look at the cars around you. Does everyone drive the best car? There are tons of other variables in play.
But Claude just sealed a strong investment from Google. Let me tell you how this is a strategic move.
Amazon & Google the monopolizers.
Partnering with Microsoft is giant. They have access to billions of devices, and have a cloud solution that’s second place in market dominance.
Yet, partnering with Google and Amazon gives you the perks of two conglomerates.
Amazon is a conglomerate in the e-commerce market and has the most dominant cloud solution.
Google, on the other hand, is a search engine monopolizer and has access to billions of android devices.
You might be thinking that this puts Claude in a smarter position. However, the truth is:
The nature of the Amazon and Google agreements is unclear. We don’t know how far they’d go to push Claude to their users.
OpenAI still has the first mover’s advantage which is worth mentioning. Thousands of apps and platforms are already using GPT.
Queen or Two Bishops.
Claude and ChatGPT are playing using two different strategies. It’s a chess game and one of them is replacing their queen with two bishops.
Yet, the truth now is that their success depends on many other variables.
If you’re thinking of the question, “what’ll be the most used generative AI tool in ten years?”, then you can’t monitor OpenAI and Anthropic (the company behind Claude) only.
You need to check how Google, Amazon, and Microsoft are performing as well.
They might not be playing the game; but they’re definitely part of the production team.
