The Real Problem Of AI — If Everyone Can Do It, then It’s Not Impressive.
Navigating with Google Maps is not impressive because everyone does it.
Artificial intelligence is cool. I think that’s the best way to describe it; I can’t come up with a better word. It’s just cool right now. You can do a lot of things with it swiftly. However, there is a core problem with this “coolness” — accessibility.
The Problem of Accessibility
AI is accessible to practically everyone right now. Imagine a world with a complicated economy where you give millions of dollars to each and every person, and everyone becomes a millionaire.
This creates a fundamental problem in society. If everyone is a millionaire, the price of basic goods like tomatoes would increase tenfold or even a hundredfold, making the term "millionaire" lose its meaning. The concept of being a millionaire is based on supply and demand.
What the AI market is doing right now is inflating the supply of these tools, giving each person the ability to generate something decent. This shifts the baseline, making the ability to produce decent content the new norm.
If everyone can create an image using MidJourney and show it off to friends and family as something special, then it really isn't special anymore. If you can access something easily without putting in any effort, it loses its uniqueness, and someone else can replicate it just as easily.
Thriving in an AI-Dominant World
Now, the secret to thriving in an AI-dominant world is to enhance your work using these tools. Yes, GPT can create articles and MidJourney can generate images, but your prompts will make the difference between a wonderful output and an average one.
This is why prompt engineering is becoming the next big thing in our society. Learning how to effectively use tools like Gemini, GPT, and Claude is what will make people stand out in our digital world.
So, my recommendation to you is that if you’re still fighting against the AI wave, you need to swim with it. It’s happening. You have to learn how to use prompts correctly.
This skill isn’t for engineers; it’s about how to communicate with AI tools. The most successful people in the coming days will be those who know how to effectively communicate with AI.
Only those people will be able to generate above-average content and monetize their work or achieve a higher level of success than others around the world.
